Chicago, the fight or flight mentality is focused on survival, a crew of girlfriends lost in trauma and grief from their past creates a robbery ring. However, things go bad when some high-profile politicians are brutally murdered, and the ladies find themselves the primary suspects.

When the world was falling apart, they came together. In the first dark hours of September 12th, 2001, five college freshmen stay up all night in a dorm room confronting the promises of youth that have been severed by national tragedy.

Increasingly disillusioned and disappointed by world events, a young woman decides not to follow her family as they escape the city seeking safety and hides out in their abandoned home. As thunder and an incessant rain draws around her, she places a desperate phone call to an old friend.

Ryuichi Nakagomi (Ryo Amagiya), 20 years old. He moved to Tokyo last fall from the small coal mining town of Hibetsu in Hokkaido and is training to become a dancer while working as a waiter at a tap show venue in Akasaka. His father died in a mine accident, and he lives in his hometown with his mother Haruko (Midori Satsuki) and sister Yuko (Keiko Saito), who work in the mine during the day and run a bar at night. One day, Ryuichi decides to audition for a musical. At the venue, he spots his high school crush Yukari Onuma (Eri Ishida), who had gone missing.

The grim woes that surrounded famed director Peter Bogdanovich and his film, "They All Laughed."
